Blog #205--Political Campaign Shows Predictable Behaviors

I am an observer of politics, not a participant. There are a number of interesting phenomena at work in the presidential election of 2016. It offers us multiple examples of behaviors that are described in my book “It’s a Secret, So Pass It On: a Toolbox For Life.”
Democratic candidate for president Hillary Clinton was raised a Republican and is supported both by neoliberal Democrats and neoconservative Republicans because of her eager cooperation with the financial, corporate, intelligence, military and political powers behind the scenes. Like most politicians, she says one thing but may do something entirely different once elected. She would become the first woman president and would undoubtedly receive a high percentage of votes from the female population. But even then, the needs of women may or may not be addressed during her presidency.
She has a tremendous background in government, as a senator and congresswoman as well as the wife of a president. Her experience is considered a plus for her, although her decision-making is not always approved by a majority of U.S. citizens. She has been attacked, rightly or wrongly, for many years now, and a number of people have become biased against her because of it. Controversy surrounds her, and her own seeming desire to bend the law to her favor at times has created numerous enemies.
Clinton is a Scorpio, meaning she has a strong will and is capable of transforming situations. But she is also probably someone who gets back at those she feels have done her wrong. Her bellicose statements suggest she would be quick to initiate wars, either for retaliation or to placate those who have lined her campaign and personal coffers. Being tough and driven can be a good thing at times, but such people can also be extremely difficult to tolerate if she leads the country down a dark path.
She is reportedly a member of a Christian sect called The Family. Its members include some of the wealthiest and most powerful people, who believe Jesus sanctioned their right to rule the world due to their God-given superiority. We don’t know what Jesus taught in secret, but this scenario is ideally suited for arrogant egos.
Donald Trump appears at times to be a classic example of a baby soul. He tends to think in terms of me or not me; everything he does is designed to prop up his personal image and profit margins. He likely went into politics to feather his own nest. During the campaign, he has shown tendencies to be extremely vengeful toward those who disagree with him, even to the point of kicking a baby out of a campaign rally because it was crying. He has body guards who behave more like enforcers than protectors.
He once made a Freudian slip by saying “titties” rather than “cities” in a Detroit speech. That was likely due to his twin Gemini nature. He prefers to ad lib his speeches (Geminis are communicators), which sometimes gets him into trouble. When forced to use a teleprompter so his words will convey what his handlers want him to say, his other twin predictably jumps in with its own words. This will continue to occur periodically. As shown by his marriages to three attractive women, and by his Gemini tendencies, he likely has a strong attraction to women’s breasts specifically and sex in general. This came through clearly in his speech.
In many ways, he reminds me of Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.” He doesn’t have an obsession toward a specific unattainable woman as did Gatsby, but he does like ostentatious displays of wealth and personal attainment. And it appears he’s received help from a cast of shady characters to attain his wealth, much like Gatsby. He can be personable and popular, but he definitely has a dark side, as do we all.
Mainstream media is filled with attacks on Trump, including many from well-known politicians of both political parties. They support the neoliberal and neoconservative cabal that has run the U.S. for many years now, and they fear Trump will sometimes make decisions that go against their self-interests. However, they are so extreme in perspective, they fail to realize they are actually helping Trump win.
The more they attack Trump, the more the general public reacts by supporting him. Since Trump is seen by many as a child in need of love and protection, they respond to protect him from harm. Their maternal instincts help spoil him and always have.
In addition, some people hate Clinton so much they are willing to support Trump without knowing much about him. I saw interviews with some Bernie Sanders supporters, supposedly more progressive than Clinton supporters, who now say they will vote for Trump. He is farther to the right than Clinton in many ways, but they wish to do the exact opposite by voting for Trump. When asked about his policies, they seem to be completely ignorant. They simply wish to vote against Clinton.
This is an excellent example of the reversible electromagnetism described in my book. When someone or something finds itself in too extreme a situation, it is forced to do the exact opposite to re-approach middle ground. The harder Trump foes work to damage his reputation, the more they help him get elected.
This article was written September, 2016, so election results are as yet unknown. But it appears the general public may find itself in a quandary. Unable to learn about or even recognize third party candidates, most feel there is no choice but to vote either for Clinton or Trump. Despite claiming some distance from Clinton, Trump as president would still need to act in alignment with Congress to get things done, and it appears at this time he might not have great support there. So little by little, forces may push Trump closer to Clinton in terms both of foreign and domestic policy.
In other words, either person as president would likely support more profits for the rich, less assistance to those in need, and an ebullient foreign policy. There may be a continuation or even worsening of the problems that presently exist. This is predictable for the same reason there’s been such a strong backlash to the Trump candidacy. The power brokers know only one way of doing things, and multiple successes have reinforced their behavior as being sound. They see no reason to change, even though they have created the environment which causes many citizens to seek alternatives.
The eventual backlash against either a Clinton or Trump presidency will likely be monumental. The two candidates may be shocked to discover the degree of distrust toward them from the general population. If Trump wins, there will likely be many public protests and subsequent arrests as more freedoms are eliminated and dissonant voices quieted. If Clinton wins, the hateful frenzy that Trump hasn’t discouraged might just create anarchy and blood lust in the streets.
Both Clinton and Trump see themselves as special and better than most. So the chances they might change their ways in response to public outcry are slim at best. And a child may lead.
