ABOUT ME

Jack L. Tuttle has enjoyed an extremely diverse life, which gives him a unique perspective on the world. In a world of specialists, he is a generalist. His educational background and work experiences show this clearly.

He earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, a BS in Veterinary Medicine, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and a Master's Degree in Adult Continuing Education, all from the University of Illinois. He worked in small animal veterinary practice in the Chicago area before returning to the University of Illinois as a Small Animal Extension Veterinarian. During that time, he was promoted from instructor to Assistant Professor and taught a course in Client Relations. His primary function was serving as an information source for veterinarians and pet-related organizations.

He developed an expertise in animal behavior and worked at a large referral hospital as an Animal Behavior Specialist. He later wrote a book on dog behavior called "Dogs Need Our Love," published by Libra Publishers. He also wrote many articles for various veterinary and animal-related publications, and he gave a number of speeches on animal-related issues.

In 1987, he and his wife Mary Jane opened Insight Metaphysical Bookstore.  The physical store was open 16 years, and it continues to this day as a website.  From 2003 through 2012, he was a journalist and later assistant publisher for a sports website dealing with University of Illinois football and basketball.  Other income-producing ventures included work as a professional musician and self-employment under the name "Generic Generalist."  The latter was a general counseling service.

Tuttle received inspiration on January 8, 1978, and for many months afterward.  He has spent the rest of his life testing and confirming the findings he was given.  As a generalist, he is ideally suited to show connections between all of life.  Thus, his book will add to the body of knowledge regarding the true nature of human beings and their role in the cosmos.
