Blog #147--Interesting Tidbits Not Included in Book, Part 6

A lifetime of observation and study allows me to share a wide variety of ideas. I included many of these in my book “It’s a Secret, So Pass It On: a Toolbox For Life,” but there are numerous others. This blog continues my effort to share topics not included in the book.

Tidbit #1: The Christian Bible says the number of the “beast” is 666. How this was derived is not known, but there may be a fairly simple explanation. All life forms on Earth are built upon the element carbon, which contains six electrons, six protons and 6 neutrons. Could it be the number 666 represents the carbon atom? I state in my book that the ego, found in all living creatures, accompanies all evil acts. Maybe the number 666 represents the false notion that life in bodies on a planet in the Milky Way galaxy is our true selves. After all, our bodies die while our spirits, composed of pure energy, exist eternally.

I shared a numbering system in my book which occurs in regular cycles throughout all aspects of life. It is 1+6+6+6 ad infinitum. The number one represents the creative force that animates our bodies. Without it, we cannot exist. Accepting it as our true leader allows us to become one with our creative source and everything that exists in the entire universe. If that is the truth, then our ego is the “beast” described by the number 666 since it denies the existence of that creative force or attempts to limit its influence.

Tidbit #2: I haven’t studied the entire concept of “mesmerizing,” but I do know some people are capable of mentally manipulating others into doing their bidding or getting them to believe things that aren’t true. I’ve known people capable of this. In fact, a member of my extended family found a number of susceptible people who believed any lie she directed toward them with the force of her mind.

For instance, she once influenced her school teacher to call on a student who was absent that day. She was so successful at mesmerizing, she expected everyone to do her bidding and considered herself invincible. She became extremely frustrated when some people, being self-confident enough to prefer their own council, did the opposite of what she mentally ordered them to do.

In another case, a prominent basketball coach had a special charm that could transform reporters into friends, athletes into willing followers, and women into sexual partners. As one of many examples, he had mental control over an 80-year-old reporter. It was such a powerful influence, the elderly gentleman once threatened to beat up a much younger colleague for daring to expose the coach’s obvious, provable lies.

I have found what may be a similar behavior pattern in other species. My wife and I had a fish tank for many years. Among the species living in our tank was a plecostomus. This particular species grew larger than others; ours was over 5 inches long at death. Normally an algae eater, this plecostomus began looking for other food sources when algae growth couldn’t keep up with its needs.

We also had some neon tetras in the tank. They are multi-colored but small, and their numbers were dwindling rapidly. We didn’t suspect the plecostomus at first, but we noticed the tetras remaining close to the mouth of the plecostomus. I was watching when the last survivor was drawn close enough to be sucked in by the vacuum created by the plecostomus. Certainly, animals that must lure prey to them have a magnetic attraction to aid the cause; their ability to draw food stuffs to them allows them to survive.

But in this case, there appeared to be another factor at work as well. Why did the tetras remain so close to the plecostomus? They were fast and could swim anywhere they wanted in the tank, and yet time and again they were found close to their eventual predator. I have no doubt they were sucked into the mouth of the plecostomus by the vacuum found in all species that eat food. But if they were human, we would say they were “tricked” into remaining close to their enemy. Could it be that a mental ordering is involved, as it is in humans? We can’t discount the possibility.

Tidbit #3: I wonder if our concept of the word “sexy” requires a more precise definition. Both men and women have strong sexual attractions to certain individuals, and we often assume these attractions are due to their physical appearance. Women with curvy figures, symmetrical faces, well-coifed hair and attractive clothes are often considered sexy by men, and women are often attracted to men with athletic bodies and ruggedly handsome faces. But is an attraction to someone proof of their sexuality?

In a number of cases, the most attractive people are not necessarily good in bed. In fact, many are narcissistic or at least love their own appearance more than those who are attracted to them. They might not make good sexual partners. Some of the sexiest women I’ve met in my life were those who loved sex, regardless of their appearance.

For instance, a secretary in an office where I worked drew men to her like flies to honey despite modest attributes. She was married, but one man after another tried to woo her. And more often than not, she couldn’t say no to them. I am told she was a dynamite sexual partner. She was the kind of person where photographs couldn’t do her justice. That is because men seeing her in person perceived much more attractiveness than the photos could possibly reflect. They noticed her strong, magnetic sexual receptivity, and they translated that as being beautiful. She was sexy, not beautiful.

Maybe we should limit our descriptions of others to phrases like, “That person is attractive to me,” until we know how they function alone with a sexual partner. Sexy is as sexy does.

Tidbit #4: As I describe in my book, if we eliminate one subgroup of our overall human population, others will begin to fill in the void left by the departed ones. This is how Nature balances and is guaranteed to occur. For instance, if the so-called 1%, those with as much wealth as the rest of the Earth combined, were to escape someday to another world or to pre-established underground residences, or if they were killed or jailed for crimes against the rest of humanity, some of their enemies would eventually seek the same kind of wealth and power.

In typical O. Henry-style irony, those who are considered the most sinister actually push some people at the other extreme into greater spiritual awareness. And those who are spiritual require sinister people to balance them out. The world must retain a balance. We can't have one without the other, and we can’t change that law.
